Family policies

What families ask before the first class.

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

In the pool, and watching

In a lesson, an instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer, and the number of swimmers each instructor has in each level is on our safety page. Parents watch from the deck or the benches by the pool. We ask that a parent or guardian stays on site during every class, and swimmers in the younger levels have an adult on the deck at open swim. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision.

What to wear and bring

Swim shirts are welcome in every class. Please tie long hair back or tuck it in the cap, wear goggles if your swimmer likes them, and bring a towel. We ask every swimmer to wear a cap in their level's color in a lesson.

When to keep your child home

Please keep your swimmer home with a fever, a stomach bug or anything that spreads, and tell us so we can offer a make-up class. We rinse the deck and the benches every evening.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close the pool for holidays and for repairs, and we tell families by text and by email. A class missed because the pool was closed is made up within the session.

Leaving the program

Please give us notice in writing before a swimmer leaves, so we can offer the place to a family on the waitlist. What happens to a session in progress is on the enrollment page.

Drop-off and pickup

After class the instructor sends each swimmer back to a parent or to a grown-up you have named at registration. If someone new is collecting, tell the front desk before class.

Watching class and party guests

Brothers, sisters and friends are welcome on the deck benches. Please keep them back from the pool's edge, and keep strollers in the lobby. At a party, guests wait with their adults on the deck until the instructors call them in.

Screens and phones

Please keep phones away from the water's edge. Photos of other families' swimmers are not allowed on the deck.
